2 Days Tour from Marrakech to Zagora Desert

Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Draa Valley – Zagora Desert

The first day 2 days tour to Zagora Desert begins in Marrakech: our English-speaking driver/guide will pick you up at the hotel or at the agreed place to head to the extreme south of the country, in the direction of Ouarzazate. To do this, we will cross the Atlas mountain range through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, located at about 2,200 meters above sea level. Both on the way up and down, the winding road will pass by small mountain towns and offer the most spectacular panoramic views.

Once we have overcome this imposing natural barrier, we will fully enter the territory that has been home to the Berber population since time immemorial. After leaving behind Ouarzazate, considered the ‘Gateway to the Desert’, we will tour the Draa Valley, which is considered the largest palm grove in all of Africa: 150 km long to give pleasant notes of green to our trip, where suggestive kasbahs also stand out. and humble gardens worked by villagers.

In the afternoon, our journey will end in Zagora, which gives its name to this portion of desert. From here we will head to our tent camp located in the heart of the desert.

And we will do it in the most appropriate means of transport for this: on the back of noble dromedaries, assisted at all times by those in charge. Once at the camp, we will witness the sunset, you will have dinner and sleep, still with the brightness of the stars shining on your retinas.

Day 2: Zagora Desert – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – Telouet – Marrakech

On the second day of this 2 days tour from Marrakech to Zagora Desert , its sandy landscape will give you a moving ‘good morning’ greeting with the first rays of sun, making the breakfast included on the route even more special. We will also leave the camp on the back of camels and after that, we will begin the way back through the Draa Valley and towards Ouarzazate, where we will stop to take photos in the Taourirt kasbah. A few kilometers after Ouarzazate, we will reach the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will dedicate the necessary time to visit this cinematic fortress. And shortly after, we will do the same with the Telouet kasbah (optional entrances to both monuments).

Back in the vehicle, we will complete the last 130 km that separate us from Marrakech, crossing the Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival in this city, at its airport or any other agreed place, our services will conclude with the desire to have provided you with the best of experiences.
