Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Your best 4 days tour from Marrakech to Fes begins with a knowledgeable driver/guide picking you up from your accommodations in Marrakech. You will be transported through the magnificent Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’tichka Pass, which is 2260 meters above sea level. One of the highlights of this tour is the visit to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and an iconic Moroccan historical building.
Lunch offers the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine in a charming restaurant. In the afternoon, continue to Ouarzazate and stop near the Atlas film studios for a photo session. Next, explore the city center, where you’ll enjoy a picturesque view of the Kasbah of Taourirt, a historic fortified abode.
Your journey then takes you to the Dades Valley for an overnight stay at a hotel, where an exquisite dinner awaits. This is just the beginning of your captivating desert experience.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert
After a satisfying breakfast at your hotel, the day’s adventure unfolds as you head towards Tinghir. Along the way, you will pass through Boumalne de Dades, offering a perfect opportunity to capture the panoramic beauty of the Dades Valley.
Continuing your journey, you will proceed to the Todra Gorges via Imider and Tinghir, with several scenic stops and photo opportunities along the way. Upon reaching the Todra Gorges, prepare to be impressed by its dramatic canyon landscapes, where you can explore the narrow valleys on foot.
As the day progresses, you will travel to Tinjdad, where a lunch break awaits, and then to Erfoud, famous for its fossil crafts. From Erfoud, your path takes you to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi, also known as Merzouga Dunes.
Upon reaching the edge of the dune, you will take a camel ride for approximately an hour and a half, an experience full of laughter and adventure as you enter the desert, guided only by the sound of the camel’s footsteps in the sand.
You’ll arrive at the camp in time to witness a stunning desert sunset, a peaceful moment amidst the serene desert landscape. As night falls, enjoy a delicious dinner and entertainment around the bonfire, with Berber percussion performances. Your accommodation for the night will be in a well-equipped desert camp, providing all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay under the starry desert sky.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert Excursion

Go deeper into the desert, visit Lake Dayte Sarje, marvel at the black volcanic rocks and explore the souks of Rissani in the afternoon. Finally, we return you to your riad or hotel in Merzouga. Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
After breakfast, the last day of our 4 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes takes us north through the vast palm grove of Tafilalet, the largest in the country, with thousands of palm trees stretching over 20 km. We pause in the Ziz Valley, the water source of this lush palm grove, where you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the valley and the city of Aoufous.
Our trip continues with another stop in the city of Midelt, located in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Here, you will have free time to have lunch and relax. In the afternoon, we passed through the Azrou cedar forest, where you might see some macaque monkeys along the way.
Next, we visit Ifrane, a city located 1630 meters above sea level on the northwest slope of the Middle Atlas. Its wide avenues, impeccable cleanliness, green spaces, gardens and unique architecture give it the appearance of a Swiss city, earning it the nickname of Moroccan Switzerland. Ifrane even has a prominent ski resort, Michlifen.
Around 7 pm, we arrive in Fes, where our services conclude with a transfer to your accommodation, marking the end of our 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes.
