Day 1: Welcome in Marrakech
No matter what time you arrive in Marrakech, the first day of your tour is designed to immerse you in the essence of the city. Our dedicated staff will be there to greet you upon your arrival at the airport or Marrakech station, ensuring a seamless transfer to your accommodation a charming riad where you’ll complete the check-in process upon arrival.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Following a delightful breakfast at the riad in Marrakech, we go on our journey to explore the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs. Our seasoned driver will be at your service, ready to guide us southeastward. As we traverse the majestic Great Atlas mountains, adorned with snow capped peaks from autumn through spring, we’ll be treated to breathtaking vistas of Berber villages and panoramic landscapes.
Our first destination of the day is the renowned Ait Benhaddou, a monumental adobe fortress steeped in history. Once a bustling town, it now attracts visitors from around the globe and has served as a backdrop for numerous iconic film and television productions, including the acclaimed Game of Thrones series.
After exploring this magnificent kasbah, we’ll continue our journey, encountering many other charming kasbahs along the way. Some we’ll have the opportunity to explore up close, while others will captivate us from afar, creating a truly picturesque road trip experience. Examples include Taourirt and Skoura, each offering a glimpse into Morocco rich heritage.
The Route of a Thousand Kasbahs winds through two enchanting valleys: the Valley of the Roses and the Dades Valley, each boasting landscapes that are sure to enchant the eye. Our accommodation for the night awaits us in the latter a traditional riad where we’ll indulge in a delicious dinner and relax amidst the serene surroundings.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert
On the third day of our journey, following a hearty breakfast at the riad, we embark on a new leg of the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs. Along the way, we encounter the breathtaking Todra Gorges, where the humble river has carved its way through millennia, creating walls towering over 200 meters high. We’ll have the opportunity to admire this natural wonder both from the comfort of our vehicle and on foot, exploring its most picturesque corners.
Continuing our journey, we pass through the charming town of Tinerhir and reach two captivating palm groves: Tinjdad and Touroug. Here, we gain insight into the local way of life, learning about the significance of these lush oases in the desert landscape. Our next stop is Erfoud, renowned for its abundance of fossils dating back millions of years. From here, we head south towards our ultimate destination, Merzouga.
Upon reaching Merzouga, we transition to a different mode of transportation, bidding farewell to our 4×4 vehicles and mounting camels one per person, accompanied by our dedicated guides. Together, we venture into the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi, where our tented camp awaits amidst the sea of golden sands. Here, we’re treated to a magical sunset and a night sky adorned with countless stars. Dinner is served at our remote camp, where every comfort is provided for a restful night’s sleep under the desert sky.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert – Draa Valley – Agdz – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Waking up on the fourth day is a truly special experience as we witness an unparalleled sunrise, enveloped in a sense of tranquility unique to the desert. After savoring this magical moment, we journey back to the town of Merzouga by camel, where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing shower either at the camp or in a nearby hotel, depending on your chosen package.
As we set out for another day along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, our route takes us in an east-west direction along a parallel, more southern road than the previous days. Our first stop is the captivating city of Rissani, renowned for its beautiful traditional medina and historical monuments that harken back to its days as the center of the Alawite dynasty.
Continuing our journey, we traverse the palm groves of Tafilalet and visit other picturesque towns, such as Alnif, Tazarine, and Nkob, each adorned with traditional adobe buildings that speak to the region’s rich heritage.
As we near the end of the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, our path leads us through the enchanting Draa Valley, the Berber town of Agdz, and once again, Ouarzazate. From here, we begin our ascent along the south face of the Great Atlas Mountains, eventually arriving back in the vibrant city of Marrakech by day’s end. Here, a beautiful riad awaits, where we’ll enjoy a delightful dinner and reflect on the unforgettable experiences of our journey.
Day 5: Visit Marrakech
One of the remarkable advantages of this journey along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs and the Merzouga desert is the opportunity it affords you to explore the vibrant city of Marrakech. Specifically, on the fifth day of your itinerary.
After indulging in a delicious breakfast at the riad, you’ll have the entire day at your disposal to tailor to your preferences. Whether you opt for guided visits to iconic monuments, immersive shopping experiences in the traditional souks and bustling Jemaa el-Fna square, or indulging in the flavors of local cuisine, the choice is yours.
In any case, rest assured that dinner and accommodation will be provided in the same charming riad, allowing you to unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures in the heart of Marrakech.
Day 6: Transfer to Marrakech Airport
On the sixth and final day of your 6-day tour from Marrakech, you’ll have some time to make any last-minute purchases or enjoy a leisurely morning stroll in Marrakech. At the agreed time and place, our driver will be ready to pick you up in a private vehicle and transfer you to the airport for your departure.
